Campbell River Kinsmen open the Tool Box for the Operating Room

The Kinsmen Club of Campbell River recently presented the Hospital Foundation with a donation of $18,930 to purchase a Small Battery Drive Drill for the Operating Room. This drill is used in traumatology hand and foot surgery, involving surgical procedures including hand and finger fractures, tendon transfers and finger reattachments, wire placement and cutting of bone and tissue.  The drill, much like a cordless drill used at home, has different attachments and functions; it is lightweight and easy for the surgeons to maneuver. The Kinsmen Club of Campbell River is made up of community leaders that have an interest in fostering relationships and the desire to perpetuate the idea of community service. They fundraise to support a variety of Campbell River charities through their Safe Rides Home Program and Black Tie and White Shirt Bar Service and have contributed more than $40,000 to quality health care for Campbell River and North Vancouver Island.  Visit their website to learn more about their organization and how you could become involved
