Shoppers Drug Mart supporting Women's Health

The Shoppers Drug Mart 2014 Tree of Life Campaign raised $6272 towards the purchase of a Birthing Bed for Campbell River Hospital.  The funds were raised by both Campbell River Shoppers Drug Mart locations; the Tyee Plaza and Timberline Village. On average, 400 babies are born in the Campbell River Hospital each year. Maternity birthing beds are designed to help ensure that moms have the best possible birthing experience; made both for moms-to-be and for labor and delivery nurses, this bed will offer outstanding patient comfort, flexible support features, simple operation and improved mobility. National in scope yet locally-based, the annual Tree of Life campaign gives Shoppers Drug Mart customers and employees the opportunity to donate directly to organizations that make a difference to women’s health in their own communities. In fact, their generosity and participation keeps this tree alive and growing higher every year.  Since 2002, the Tree of Life campaigns at Shoppers locations nationwide have raised more than $23 million for Canadian health charities. In 2014, over 487 Health charities across Canada will benefit from the campaign’s proceeds with 100 per cent of funds staying in the community where they are raised.
