Shoppers Drug Mart supports Women’s Health

Tyee Plaza Shoppers Drug Mart presented a donation of $5238 to the Hospital Foundation.  The funds were raised through the Life Foundation Growing Women’s Health Campaign.

This gift will help support the purchase of the MyoSure Tissue Removal System, a hysterscopic treatment that targets and removes uterine tissue including fibroids and polyps.  This equipment will enable our Obstetric/Gynecological surgeons at Campbell River Hospital to assist women suffering with abnormal bleeding symptoms without having to undergo major surgery and possibly removing the entire uterus. Because of this, the uterus form and function are retained and may preserve chances to have children in the future.

National scope yet locally-based, the annual Life Foundation campaign gives Shoppers Drug Mart customers and employees the opportunity to purchase and personalize a “Growing Women’s Health” icon; a leaf, a butterfly, an apple or a bird.  The icons are prominently displayed on the Growing Women’s Health Tree in all participating stores with 100 per cent of the campaign proceeds donated to support local women’s health.

You can still support the doctors, nurses and other key members of your local healthcare team, and help ensure that you and your loved ones continue to receive first-class healthcare right here at home by donating on line at www.crhospitalfoundation.ca or calling 250.286.7164
