The Campbell River Italian Cultural Society recently purchased a software upgrade for the Department of Anesthesia. The money was raised through a raffle held during their annual celebrated picnic at Miracle Beach Provincial Park.  The upgrade called "Enhanced Needle Visualization" is a new technology that allows the Doctor to keep the needle in better vision for deeper procedures.  The deeper the nerve or blood vessel, the more difficult it can become to keep the needle under vision,  this software helps to make a significant impact on patient safety as well as post-operative pain management. The Italian Cultural Society has supported the Hospital Foundation since 1996 and has raised more than $12,000 for quality health care in Campbell River and the North Island.
